As we roll into 2023, we've been asked "When's the next game?" "When's the next boot camp?" and "When's the next Learn to Skate session?" These questions can be answered in reverse!
Learn to Skate sessions are being held on the following Sundays in January: the 15th, 22nd, and 29th, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM with a half-hour open skate afterward, at Maclay School's Cartee Gym where TRD currently holds practices. Pre-registration is required at https://tinyurl.com/3jdwcfjt and, as is customary, there is a $5 admission fee plus $2 if skates are needed.
Boot camp will start in February, with the exact date and pre-registration link to be announced shortly. Classes will also be held at Maclay School from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Sundays, costing $5 per class plus $2 for gear rental. A change from previous boot camps is the prerequisite that skaters be able to skate forward and backward, perform 180-degree turns and do crossovers. Coincidentally, these skills are being taught during the January Learn to Skate sessions!
As for our next game, since we are still in need of a home venue, we are in the process of scheduling away games for 2023 and will announce our opponents as soon as the schedule is finalized. Leagues all over the South (well, all over the world) are resuming gameplay after the pandemic, and we look forward to playing against old and new friends in the coming months.
